ITALY.
On the first weekend of November 2017, two of my close friends in my study abroad program and I decided that it was finally time to venture outside of our Parisian bubble…
What transpired was 72 hours of walking through a living history museum (regrettably in heels - the only pair of shoes I packed in my carry-on) and capitalist Mecca - taking breaks only to inhale as much fresh Napolitan pizza as our €100 food budget could afford. Although brief, my visit to Venice and Milan is a collection of sensorial experiences that I won’t soon forget. The deep blue-green waters of the Venetian canals. The sweet, heady incense that permeated every gold-lined recess of St. Mark’s Basilica during Sunday communion. The streams of golden-yellow light pouring through the arched glass ceilings of Piazza del Duomo at sunset. Below I’ve included some highlights of a trip that reminded me that la vita è bella.
